Space Structures supplies sandwich panels in a wide range of material combinations to meet diverse structural and thermal requirements. Available configurations include aluminium facesheets with aluminium honeycomb cores, GFRP facesheets with aluminium honeycomb cores, CFRP facesheets with aluminium honeycomb cores, and fully composite solutions with CFRP facesheets and CFRP honeycomb cores. NOMEX cores are also available as an optional alternative where required by the application.

To accommodate structural and functional interfaces, the panels can be equipped with a variety of insert solutions. Inserts are available in aluminium, titanium, INVAR, or CFRP and can be designed as floating, face-to-face, edge, or block types. Depending on customer requirements, inserts may include through-holes or threaded interfaces, including optional thread-locking features.

In addition, we offer a unique all-black sandwich panel solution in which the faceskins, honeycomb core, and inserts are all manufactured from carbon-fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP), providing a fully integrated composite structure with outstanding performance and appearance.
