About us

Center for Telematics was one of the European pioneers in the field of CubeSat technology and satellite formations.

Today, together with its spin-off S4 - Smart Small Satellite Systems GmbH, it is developing technologies and performing missions with more than 20 CubeSats and highly demanding applications like formations for distributed earth observations, secure connectivity based on quantum key distribution or low latency 5G communication via satellite using satellites in very low earth orbits.

CubeSat missions with highly demanding applications like formations for distributed earth observations, secure connectivity based on quantum key distribution or low latency 5G communication via satellite using satellites in very low earth orbits.

cyber® reaction wheel 2

The compact reaction wheel is designed for attitude control used in pico or nano satellites. Due to its cube shape with integrated electronic control it can be used in several configurations. The reaction wheel is provided with vacuum-rated bearings and components resisting radiation terms up to 200 Gy. Profiting from the experience of WITTENSTEIN cyber motor in the field of precise small permanentmagnet motors and ZFT in the field of reliable space electronics and
software engineering.

3 Axis Attitude Control System

The S4 developed 3 axis attitude control system uses redundant reaction wheels with specially developed control algorithms to operate at low power consumption. Thus at resources of a pico-satellite, a miniature precision 3-axis attitude control system is realized.

Starter Kit for flexible UNISEC bus

The UNISEC bus provides the basis for an efficient, modular pico-satellite realization. For own development of payload or satellites, the Starter Kit provides all necessary interfaces to computers and to test equipment. After launch, this kit serves as EGSE and thus supports the full satellite lifecycle.
